Adoptee FAQ

What do you mean by healing?

Healing is to be able to restore something that’s been broken in the way that allows you to move around in the world without it constantly activating your body.

This does not mean to put a neat bow on it, fix it, forget it, or bypass it. We can’t remove trauma from the body’s memory. We can only create new pathways that allow us agency and compassion for ourselves to live along with it.

Are you a licensed clinician?

No, I am not a clinician.

Are you trauma-informed?

I’m a trauma informed facilitator. I aim to create safe spaces where adoptees are heard and seen and supported regardless of their stories.

Who benefits from these sessions?

Adult adoptees who wish to explore their adoptee identity regardless if they’re just starting out or looking to deepen their journey.

Do I have to share with the group?

Sharing is optional. Sharing is encouraged to create connection and trust amongst the people in the group.

Do I have to keep my camera on for the session?

I invite participants to keep their cameras on when we’re in a shared space for the same reason as to why we share, but you always have the choice to turn it off.

I don’t like groups, can I work with you privately?

Yes, I’m available for private sessions. Book a session, or a free 15-min consultation call HERE.
